Your photos never leave your browser

The short version

ShantiTools resizes your photos and signatures entirely inside your browser using the HTML Canvas API. Your file is never uploaded to any server. We don't have a database, we don't require an account, and we don't store anything. When you close the tab, your photo is gone — from your browser memory and everywhere else.

What happens when you upload a photo

When you select a file, your browser reads it into memory and draws it onto an HTML <canvas> element. The compression algorithm adjusts JPEG quality and re-encodes the image until it falls within your target file-size range. The result is offered to you as a download. At no point in this process is the file transmitted over the internet.

You can verify this yourself: open your browser's Developer Tools (F12), go to the Network tab, and use any ShantiTools page. You will see no upload request carrying your image data.

What we don't collect

• •No accounts — we never ask for your name, email, or phone number.
• •No photo storage — your image exists only in your browser's memory.
• •No tracking cookies — we don't set cookies that identify you.
• •No analytics — we don't run tracking scripts that follow you across pages.

Error reporting

If a page crashes, our platform may automatically collect an anonymous error report — this includes the error message and the page URL, but never your photo or any personal information. This helps us fix bugs. No error report contains your image data, because the image data never leaves your browser in the first place.

Third-party links

Some pages link to official government portals (e.g. UPSC, SSC, Passport Seva) so you can verify file-size requirements at the source. These external sites have their own privacy policies. ShantiTools is not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites.

Children's privacy

ShantiTools is designed for students and applicants filling out exam and government forms. We don't knowingly collect any personal information from anyone — including children — because we don't collect personal information at all.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site works in a way that affects your privacy, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. We won't quietly change the fundamentals: your photos will always be processed in your browser.
