About
शांति — peace of mind for every form you fill
Every year, millions of Indians fill out exam applications, passport forms, and government portals — and every one of them demands a photo or signature at an exact file size. Too many kilobytes and the form rejects it. Too few and it fails quality checks. The result is hours of frustration: open a tool, compress, check the size, compress again, and pray.
ShantiTools was built to end that cycle. Pick your exam or form, upload your photo, and get a file that meets the exact specification — on the first try. No trial-and-error, no guessing.
Why the name "Shanti"?
Shanti (शांति) means peace in Sanskrit and Hindi. It's also the name of someone very dear to us. We chose it because that's exactly what we want to give you when a form is rejecting your photo at 11 PM the night before a deadline — peace of mind.
How it works
Every ShantiTools page knows the exact file-size requirements for a specific exam or form — SSC CGL, UPSC, NEET, passport, and dozens more. When you upload a photo, it's processed entirely in your browser using the HTML Canvas API. The file is never uploaded to any server. Nothing is stored. The moment you close the tab, it's gone.
A binary-search compression algorithm adjusts the JPEG quality until the output lands inside the target KB range — so you get a file that's accepted on the first upload, not the fifth.
What we don't do
- •We don't ask you to create an account.
- •We don't upload your photo to any server.
- •We don't store, track, or sell your data.
- •We don't watermark your output.
Who's behind it
ShantiTools is a small, independent project built and maintained in India. We add new exam specifications as forms change and new portals launch. If a form rejected your photo and we don't have a page for it yet, tell us — we'll add it.
